The Analytical Chemistry Facility (ACF) of IIT supports the whole IIT Network in advanced research projects in the fields of Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry and Biochemistry. The ACF is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and offers top-end skills for the identification, purification, characterization and quantification of many different classes of chemical compounds (small molecules, proteins, peptides, lipids, metabolites, polymers) from the most diverse matrices (tissues, plasma, urine, cell extracts).
The Analytical Chemistry Facility has four main areas of expertise:
- DMPK activities needed for the progression of drug discovery projects (drug metabolism, metabolite ID, pharmacokinetics, etc.)
- Advanced structural elucidation and purification of chemical compounds, including chiral compounds
- Proteomics and metabolomics to investigate molecular mechanisms underlying pathophysiological states and to identify molecular biomarkers
- Data analysis, statistics and bioinformatics
